More than 200 internal medicine residents, male and female, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston were given staff badges displaying their occupational title ("Doctor"). Two months later, 111 of them completed a survey (55.0% of them women) and four out of five participants reported having been misidentified in the past.

Women were more than three times as likely than men to say they had experienced role misidentification in the past.

Medicus Scrub Cap Size Guide

it's important for all the caps is based on different diameters, specially taking into account the volume of the hair.

Small - Medium : Best for short to medium length hair with a smaller head.
Medium - Large : Best for medium to long hair or bigger head.

Generally as a point of reference if you measure around your head from the forehead then 55-60cm will feel fairly snug for small/medium. The main difference is the height of the forehead piece. this allows the cap to go further back over the head. So also personal choice comes into it.

Style of cap

We have 2 styles of caps which are more for a preference of if you need to cover all your hair. If you are in surgery this is a must and so if you have longer hair we recommend elastic style to keep longer hair bunched up.

With shorter hair then ties are fine. We have defaulted to calling them male/female styles but they are both unisex depending on the hair.

Quick Backstory

The founders Matt and Romi had very time consuming jobs and wanted to create meaningful change through what people call today "side hustle". Romi is a Perioperative Nurse and Matt works in the film industry.

Deciding out of hundreds of options they went with what they knew. Expecting a baby they setup La Romi and wanting to make a positive change in surgery with Medicus Caps.
